The label was founded in 1968 by Gerolamo Etro. An economist with a passion for travel, he drew inspiration from the Orient to create his own brand. Etro bags have retained this colourful, lively spirit – it remains the brand’s signature. Etro is still family-owned and run by the brothers Ippolito, Jacopo and Kean Etro.
